Turkoman Rugs

One principal group of oriental rugs, very widespread and popular is the large group of red carpets, which maybe roughly divided into Turkoman, Afghan and Bluchi rugs.
These rugs are made in the large area abounded by the Caspian Sea in the west, part of the former Soviet Union in the north, Iran in the south and Tibet in the east.
The Turkoman tribes are chiefly horsemen, and they have had a tradition of rug making for centuries
